Role Overview: Talent Acquisition Manager

The Talent Acquisition Manager will oversee end-to-end recruitment, lead employer branding initiatives, standardize selection processes, and manage onboarding for all roles within RwandAir. This strategic role ensures the airline attracts, retains, and develops high-performing talent to support business growth and operational excellence.

This position reports to the Chief HR & Administration Officer and will play a central role in shaping the talent strategy for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment Leadership

  • Manage the entire recruitment lifecycle, from job requisition to onboarding
  • Lead recruitment for operational, technical, administrative, and executive positions
  • Monitor key metrics, including quality of hire, time to hire, first-year attrition, and candidate satisfaction
  • Conduct executive searches and manage senior leadership recruitment
  • Partner with department heads to anticipate workforce needs and plan hiring strategies

2. Employer Branding & Candidate Experience

  • Develop and implement employer branding strategies for various roles
  • Ensure positive candidate experiences throughout the recruitment process
  • Remove onboarding barriers to streamline integration of new hires
  • Promote RwandAir as a top employer in Rwanda and across the region

3. Coaching & Team Development

  • Mentor and guide the Talent Acquisition team
  • Standardize selection frameworks, interviews, and assessment tools
  • Coach hiring managers on recruitment best practices
  • Foster a collaborative culture within the TA team to achieve high performance

4. Analytics & Reporting

  • Maintain HRIS and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) data accuracy
  • Produce recruitment dashboards and reports for management
  • Use data-driven insights to improve hiring quality and speed
  • Integrate psychometric and skills assessments into recruitment processes

5. Strategic Talent Acquisition

  • Contribute to long-term talent acquisition strategy
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in recruitment policies
  • Manage relationships with recruitment agencies and negotiate competitive rates
  • Support organizational succession planning and talent pipeline development

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Recognized HR accreditation or certification (mandatory)

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years in HR or Talent Acquisition
  • At least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Experience implementing recruitment policies, frameworks, and employer branding initiatives
  • Proven track record of managing recruitment in medium or large organizations

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of modern recruitment and talent acquisition processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage external recruitment agencies and negotiate rates
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Leadership skills: mentoring, delegation, performance management
  • Knowledge of HR laws, compliance, and assessment tools

Preferred / Advantageous

  • Integration of psychometric and skills assessments
  • Experience with ATS-driven reporting and dashboards
  • Executive search experience and senior-level recruitment success
